This original nineteenth century gouache is possibly a proposal for McCormick's Advance Reaper. Depicted are cherubs riding moths with the foremost cherub holding a bundle of wheat in one hand and a golden sickle raised in the other. Around the cherubs are what appear to be yellow fringed tulips. Frame: 9 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches. Image: 7 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches. Recent mahogany frame.
