B/W Maps. 716 pp. From the library of Robert Balzer, wine expert, and inscribed to him "To Bob, An old friend, in admiration. Cordially, Alexis Nov 1974." With, a legal size publicity sheet for the book. With, a letter addressed to Balzer from the Knopf Publicity Director, stating that he takes pleasure in sending, at Lichine's request, an advance copy of this book, dated Oct 23. With, a fine copy of the offprint of "A Dreamer of Wine: A Profile" by Joseph Wechsberg, first published in the New Yorker May 17 and 24, 1958. The book has Balzer's bookplate with his name encircled by a red vine.Book is bright and clean but binding cracked/broken between half-title and title pages. DJ well worn, chips and small tears at edges, loss of first half of publisher';s first name at base of spine. Balzer's library was well maintained, most wine books clean and fresh, but the Lichine's were mostly well used.
