This is a Very Good Copy of this book finely bound in a full Tan Leather (Calf) Binding with black moroccan title label lettered in gilt to spine.There are five raised bands to spine with gilt title lettering in the 2nd compartment to spine,other compartments with decorative gilt designs and tooling.The book has a firm binding with no hinge weakness.One former owner's bookplate to the front pastedown,with marbled endpapers.There is one ink name to top edge of the title page.One or two marks to the outer calf boards are noted.The book has a firm binding with no loose leaves etc.1812 Second Edition with attractive folding plate as frontispiece with figure drawings depicting methods for canning,bottling etc.This is a pioneering work on food and vegetable preservation for many years and written by this Frenchman and inventor of airtight containers and known as the Father of Canning and who was the founder of the first bottling plant in the world Small 8vo (xxv) 164pp Second Edition [1812] .
