Published for the Benefit of the James Tiptree, Jr. Memorial Award. "The Bakery..." is a second printing, and "Her Smoke..." is a first printing. Small 30 mm area of very shallow damage from silverfish near fore-edge of front cover of "Her Smoke...", otherwise covers are clean and free of damage. Interiors of both volumes are clean and unmarked. Comb bindings are both in excellent condition with no cracks or missing teeth. These two cookbooks were created as a way to fund the James Tiptree, Jr. Memorial Award, which was created to recognize Science Fiction and Fantasy works that explore and expand gender. The award was initially announced at the WisCon 15 in 1991, where the Guest of Honor Pat Murphy told the attendees that the award would be funded by bake sales. After raising $1,000 for the award from the sales of the first cookbook, "The Bakery Men Don't See" which featured recipes by authors such as Ursula K. LeGuin, Karen Fowler, Vonda N. McIntyre, and Pat Cadigan, the second cookbook, "Her Smoke Rose Up From Supper", was created and released in March of 1993. . Spiral Bound. Very Good.
