HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents the FIRST EDITION of THE BERLITZ SELF-TEACHER: SPANISH. While this may or may not be the First Printing, 1949 is the year for the FIRST EDITION. "Berlitz says: 'If you speak English, you can speak Spanish--the natural Berlitz way." This is the Full-size (5 1/2" x 8 1/4", 282 pages) hard cover book, with the ORIGINAL PRICE-CLIPPED DUST JACKET. Overall condition of the book is NEAR FINE. Pages (top edges are tinted red) = Near Fine: very slightly yellowed, fep's slightly browned on edges, penciled old pricing on first fep, else very tight, sharp, clear, with no additional markings. Cover (red cloth boards with lack design and black particulars) = Near Fine: sunned top edge of front, somewhat rubbed top of spine, 1/2" scratch on back, else tight, sharp, fresh, square, with original color and print. RARE with the ORIGINAL PRICE-CLIPPED DUST JACKET (heavy, glossy red, white and yellow paper, with black illustration and black and white particulars) = Very Good Plus: rubbed and chipped top and bottom spine, slightly chipped and rubbed front, slightly chipped and scratched back, else whole, no tears, very colorful, clear.
