"Signed by Author" Size octavo, 224 pages including index. Red paper covered boards decorated with gilt and white repeat pattern, white cloth spine section with gilt titles to the spine, paste-downs and end-papers printed with pattern of bird and foliage, with the dust jacket. Book condition near fine, a very clean copy. Dust jacket condition good, corners spine ends and top edge very slightly curled/creased, spine and spine edges of panels have sunned from red to white, not price clipped. This was a presentation copy from The Author John Hadfield to Evelyn Elwyn - the wife of Biographer and Critic Malcolm Elwin. Loosely inserted is a handwritten and signed note from Hadfield on his personal notepaper printed at the top with his home address "With the compliments of John Hadfield. With special reference to the quotation from Llewlyn Powys" and also inserted is the original handwritten address label from the envelope the note was delivered in. On a "Cupid Press" printed address label
