Washington D.C.: Government Printing Office, 1896. first edition. Hardcover. Good. 8 x 11 in. Black cloth boards with paper spine label. Original publication with Herrick's work on lobsters along with other writings, including oysters, fish etc. 7 color plates of lobsters, numerous B&W plates, lobster and map fold-outs. Condition is GOOD ; Covers are soild and binding feels very good but the text is a little pulled in the lobster section, with one B&W plate detached but present. A good portion of the text has a faint water stain to the lower right margin, this is present on the lobster plates but hardly visible - in the photo oyster plates it is visible and has caused a little pulling to separate the pgs, though all is in only the margin area. All plates highly suitable for framing. Covers have wear and the paper label is chipped. Nature. Stax.
