Sinopsis
Alexandre Dumas, fils, wrote this tale to provide a near autobiographical account of his affair with Marie Duplessis, a well-to-do Parisian courtesan who died of consumption in 1847. The story is set in the mid-1800’s, as main character Armand completes his schooling and falls in love with the lovely Marguerite, a kept woman who adores camellia flowers. This tale is the source for the opera, La Traviata.
