The book contains the U.S. Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, George Washington's Farewell Address, the Articles of Confederation, and more - please see the photos for the complete list of contents. The front cover features a gilt American flag and an eagle. At the end of each chapter is a section with questions (and answers) for teachers to pose to students. At the back of the book is an Appendix with a "summary statement" of the formation of the original 13 states, and the "new states" and territories since.

Condition:
Bright gilt illustration on the front cover and lettering on the spine; cloth tears at the bottom corners; the top and bottom edges of the spine are worn; 1/2" cloth tear at the bottom-right edge of the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Nice pages with only some light foxing to a front end paper and the title page; the rear pastedown has a number written in pen and a "Property of..." ink stamp; the last few pages have a stain at the bottom edge. Overall the book is in very good condition.
