First edition, authored by the future director of the periodical "Il Messaggero della Cucina" which stopped publishing in 1943. Organized in 12 chapters, from soup to nuts (so to speak), with detailed recipes including ingredience, measurements, and time of cooking, and some description of the nutritional value of the meal. Printed in Milano by Tipografia Artigianelli, preface by E. Bertarelli.

Rosenwald Collection in the Rare Book and Special Collections Division for 14 years.Before his appointment as Rosenwald Curator in 2000, he operated his own New York based bookselling business for 22 years. Since retirement he has begun bookselling once again and is again a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. He is also a member of the Grolier Club, NY, the Association Internationale de Bibliophile, Paris, and the Print Council of America.
