Iowa Falls, Iowa: General Publishing and Binding. Very Good. 1978. First Edition. Softcover. A great piece of military history from the 525th TFS. Spiral bound with illustrated (Bulldogs, Inc.) blue stiff paper, laminated. Sunned on all edges, corners tipped, missing first rung of the binding. This is a collection of recipes from the wives of the 525th Fighter Squadron, a United States Air Force unit, dedicated to "the men of the 525th, who bravely defend our country and who bravely indulge in our culinary efforts." All entries include the wife's name, just a few include dates, '74 or '75-1977 found. There is a photo of Butkins, the 525th's bulldog mascot and each section is illustrated using this theme by Janette Hester . A solid wonderful copy moderately stained with finger prints and substances unknown, along with a scattered pencil stars, and "Good (s)" along with a laid in newspaper recipe. Of historical relevance: "525th pilots flew the first 23 F-15 Eagles to Europe on 27 April 1977 during a historic, non-stop deployment from Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, to Bitburg Air Base, Germany. Operation Ready Eagle became a success when, 18 hours after arrival at Bitburg, the squadron's pilots were sitting five-minute alert status with two of the F-15s. After less than one month on station, the Bulldogs were declared Europe's first operationally ready F-15 squadron on 26 May 1977."
