There are two pinpoint-sized brown spots on the top outer page edge. The jacket has minor shelf-wear but looks very good. The binding is straight and strong. This 7-1/4" x 10-1/4" hardcover weighs nearly 5 lbs. This updated second edition includes a new section that lists 58 additional species and 84 nomenclature changes. Altogether, 577 tropical fish species are featured with information about the physical distinctions, coloration, distribution, and life history of each species. There are 700 wash drawings by artist-illustrator Steven Gigliotti that illustrate family characteristics, such as body shape, fin size, and teeth and gill placement.
