R. Blamire, 1793. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1793. No Edition Stated. 215 pages. This is an ex-Library book. Half bound brown leather with marbled boards. Expected library inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Volume II. Separately paginated appendix to rear, 70pp. With folding map of the Isle of Wight. Text block edges decoratively speckled. Pages have slight foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Foxing more noticeable towards the start and end of the book and on text block edges. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Boards have some edge wear, with pronounced bumping and peeling to corners, while spine ends are crushed and rubbed. Rather scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Spine title label partly missing. Gilt is bright.

GB: G. & J. Robinson, 1802. Frontispiece. Title with vignette. 316 pages. Fairly clean tight txt with a few occasional marks. The whole rebound (perhaps about 2000) in strong plain green library cloth lettered in gold on spine (with shelf number at base). Library stamp to front endpaper but no other marks. Binding in excellent condition. . 1st Edition. Hardback. Good/No DW.

Marbled boards with offset printing. Gilt title to spine on black morocco. Loss at head and foot of spine, boards scuffed. Sepia aquatint frontis, maps to chapter headings, tour itinerary at rear. Signature of a previous owner to the front pastedown, the body of text clean and unmarked, .

Warner, spent his vacation of August 1796 in Wales, walking from Bath to Caernarfon and back; he covered 36 miles on the first day and 462 miles in all, at an average of 26 miles a day. Covers heavily faded and rubbed, professionally rebacked on spine. Small chips to spine label. Small tear to bottom of title page, some light foxing to inside pages, else a very clean and tight copy. 299 + 215pp + 70pp Appendix. Plates are listed but not present “consumed, together with the copper-plates, in a fire on Sunday 28th April 1793.”
