Robust, professional packaging and tracking provided for all parcels. 155 pages. William Hay was one of the pioneers of the Riverina pastoral industry. Born in Scotland he migrated to Tasmania in 1839. After stints with the Tasmanian Treasury and as a school teacher he married Jane Ruffy and moved [with her brothers] to Victoria. Jane's brothers were among the first merino sheep breeders and Hay went into partnership with them on Dropmore Station, near Seymour in Victoria. Some time later he bought Glenlyon Station also near Seymour. As land prices rose due to the gold rush, Hat sold Glenlyon and later bought Boomanoomana run on the Murray River near Mulwala, NSW. This became the base for his success and expansion to include Collendina run near Corowa. He was Member for Murray in NSW Parliament from 1872-1883. . 1st Edition. Hardback.
