This cookbook was issued as a fundraiser for the Hyannis Public Library Association on Massachusetts' Cape Cod in 1895 in an edition of 500 copies. The preface notes that this entire edition sold out quickly, so the Ladies of the Association put out the call for more recipes and more advertisers, resulting in this second enlarged and improved edition.
