Title page in red and black + 5 unnumbered leaves + 331 numbered pages (110, 207, 209, 223, 295, 296 misnumbered) + 6 unnumbered leaves (Catalogue of Houses and Table). With 11 [of 15] of the full page engravings which are often lacking. Each part with divisional title. A few unobtrusive contemporary ink notes, otherwise pages are bright and clean. Bound in near contemporary full brown calf with six raised bands to spine, red spine label with "History of Monaster" and gilt bands and decorations to compartments, now worn. Chipping to head and tail of spine. Expected scuffing and shelf wear to edges and corners. Hinges starting. ESTCR8166. A very good copy of this abridged translation of the Latin work in three volumes, originally published under the joint authorship of Roger Dodsworth and Sir William Dugdale, London, 1655-73.
