8vo. 200 x 125 mm., [8 x 5 inches]. 44 leaves. Illustrate with chromolithographic color plates representing the costumes of each of the 18 Provinces of Italy, followed by food recipes. Bound in boards with color illustrations of a women cooking and some of the products it offers for sale.
The Liebig Company produced aromatic extracts from beef and packaged them in small cubes for use in cooking. This sales promotion is organized around the 18 Provinces of Italy beginning with the Piedmont and is illustrated with chromolithographic plates depicting a woman in local costume representing the territory. This is followed by a recipe descripting a local specialty and how the use of the extract cube will enhance the flavor the dish. This is repeated for Lombardia, Liguria, Trentino, Veneto, Istria, Emilia, Toscana, Umbria, Marche, Lazio, Abruzzo, Campania, Puglie, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicilia, and Sardegna. Nicely produced.
