Self Published. Very Good with no dust jacket; Front hinge cracked, some foxing, boards . worn, fore-edges of some pages chipped.. Hardcover. Leatherbound sammelband of the writings of Dr. Edward O. Otis (1848-1933) , a Massachusetts tuberculosis researcher, medical professor, and one of the founders of the National Association of the Study and Prevention of Tuberculosis, later renamed the American Lung Association. Dr. Otis' personal copy as indicated by penciled note on front free endpaper and with many letters and other items laid in. Dr. Otis was a proponent of climate therapy and fresh-air sanataria to treat TB patients. Three-quarter leather binding with maroon pebbled cloth boards. Five spine compartments with titling stamped in gilt in two of them. Most items bound in, but a few letters and clippings are laid in. A total of 55 items, including medical journal reprints, letters, cabinet card, book reviews, newspaper clippings, and other material. Full list of items upon request. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

Old Saratoga Books owners Dan and Rachel Jagareski have been selling books since 1996. After running an open shop for twenty years in the historic village of Schuylerville we now sell books online and at book fairs. We are members of the Independent Online Booksellers Association (IOBA). Our specialties include books about history, science, cooking, children's books, and the arts. Rachel is a graduate of the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar and has attended Rare Book School in Charlottesville, Virginia.
