Sobre este artículo
London: George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd., 1930.. Limited edition, number 148 of 1,250 copies printed (comprising 750 for England and 500 for the United States, this copy being part of the English issue). Signed by Willy Pogány in ink to the limitation page and again in pencil to the foot of the additional etched frontispiece. Quarto. Publisher's original full bluish green morocco with circular floral motif in gilt with coloured onlays to the upper board; the spine with four raised bands and titles in gilt. Top edge gilt, the others untrimmed. Pale marbled endpapers. Illustrated with 12 tipped-in colour plates by Pogány, as well as an additional signed frontispiece etching and numerous smaller black and white mounted illustrations and decorations throughout the text. Printed on fine handmade paper. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a scuff to the leather to the middle of the lower joint, a little fading to the spine and to the edge of the lower board, and a touch of rubbing to the corners. The contents remain clean and bright throughout. A beautifully produced edition of the Rubáiyát, wonderfully embellished by the Hungarian illustrator Willy Pogány (1882-1955).
