This appears to be the complete poetical works in one attractive volume with a biography and critical memoir by Francis Turner Palgave. This edition first appeared in 1866. No markings, a bit of rubbing to the edges, with rubbing and a small chip to head of spine; the old titles are bright and the leather is clean, VG; no Dj, probably as issued. (1.8 JM HOQ 100/2. Full-Leather. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Hardback, no publisher information or title pages but believed to be 1868 (similar copy exists in the British Museum and can be viewed online), illustrated with 12 plates (opposite pages 34, 96, 148, 190, 225, 298, 334, 377, 443, 478, 499 and 533), original illustrations engraved by the Dalziel brothers; probably published by Frederick Warne & Co., London (again, going by British Museum copy) and printed by Savill Edwards and Co., 640 pages, no preliminaries.

Octavo/8vo, measures around 7 5/8" by 5 3/4" by 2". Dark green cloth binding, bevelled boards, faded red and gilt detail tooling and stamping to front board, faded gilt lettering to spine, rear board embossed. Binding very scuffed, worn and marked. Clear signs of shelf-wear, bumped and torn corners. Tearing to head and tail of spine, considerable fading where it reads 'Chandos Poets' at tail. Hardcover. Eleven of 12 volumes; Vol. III is lacking. 16mo. One half maroon leather with dark green buckram boards, with gilt rules. Gilt titles at maroon spines with 5 raised gilt ruled bands. Spines are rubbed at edges and ends; leather corners also gently rubbed. Internally, title pages and frontispieces toned, o/w very good. Marbled end papers and top edges gilt.

Spines have four flat raisedbands with gilt designs on the bands. All volumes have two maroon leather labels with the series titled in gilt on the top label. The bottom label has volume number and major poem(s) in gilt letters. Blind stamped design in other compartments. All edges of covers have rolled design in leather. Grey endsheets with heraldic bookplate behind front cover. Titles pages each have vinette. Title pages notably foxed, sporadic foxing elsewhere with most other pages & plates generally clean and unfoxed.
