Black paper covered boards with a yellow cloth spine; silver line drawing of food & drink on front board. Owner names and dates (1953) on front and rear endpaper; pages are slightly tanned at edges. Line drawings by Alec Yuill-Thornton and an index; 223 pages. Price on front flap is covered by a retail book store's label. Small chips at spine ends, not really affecting any lettering. A few other small chips at edges and corners. A tight, square copy. From the front panel of the jacket: "The cookbook for men ... and for the women who cook for men".
