Scarce & unusual travelogue by a 19th-century woman--the Baroness Lady Brassey (Anna Allnutt)--chronicling her 1883 voyage aboard the RYS Sunbeam for a journey of 14,000 miles, traveling from England to Malta, Gibraltar, Madeira, Trinidad, Nassau, Bermuda, Ponta Delgada, to Devonport & Plymouth. This was to be one of her last travel adventures. She first came to fame by taking a voyage around the world in 1876/77, also aboard the Sunbeam. After a lifetime of ill health, Lady Brassey succumbed to malaria while on another voyage to Mauritius & was buried, appropriately, in the sea she loved.
