Sobre este artículo

London: Printed by P. Rose and Son, Broadmed, Bristol, 1835. First Edition. Hardcover. 44pp. Contemporary cloth backed boards, portrait frontispiece. With the bookplate of Sir George Chetwynd, 2nd Baronet, on the front board and the front pastedown endpaper and the small, gilt bookplate of Alexander McGrigor on the front free endpaper. Also with the small blind stamp of Crendon Hall on the title page and first page. In his book "On Poisons, in Relation to Medical Jurisprudence and Medicine" (Lea & Blanchard, Philadelphia, 1848), Doctor Alfred Swaine Taylor states: "The great value of chemical evidence in otherwise doubtful cases of poisoning, was never more strongly shown than at the trial of Mary Ann Burdock at Bristol, in 1835... The body of the deceased had been buried fourteen months: it was exhumed, and the poison discovered in the stomach and viscera." This advance in forensic science led to a substantial increase in poisoning trials. Chipping to spine, some soiling to boards. Internally clean but for some very mild scattered foxing. A good+ copy. ; Octavo.
