Willat Company, 1960. Softcover. Good. 0x0x0. Collectible first and only edition of Cosmetology Hall of Fame inductee Arnold F. Willat's Physics of Hair as Related to Cosmetology. Notably, Willat developed the first cold permanent wave equipment, in its time a revolutionary advancement in hair care. Inscribed and signed by Willat on half title page thus: "With best wishes | Sincerely, | A. F. Millat." Signature unconditionally guaranteed to pass any COA examination. In 1952 Millat famously boasted he would pay $1,000 to any person whose hair he couldn't curl. He was never proven wrong. Also signed on back panel by the notorious Herbert M. Shelton (see attached image), an American naturopath, alternative medicine advocate, author, pacifist, vegetarian, and supporter of rawism and fasting. Illustrated endpapers. pp. 125 with 122 colour photographic plates of shoes designed by Takada between 1967 and 1990. Held her first exhibition at a Ginza art gallery in 1966 since when she became one of the most innovative and stylish shoe designers of the C20th. Unclipped jacket with light edgewear only.
