Very good condition throughout with some very minor rubbing and toning to the edges but still all clean and sound. The set has been very well looked after. Started by Vale with $100 from Lawrence Ferlinghetti and the same amount from Allen Ginsberg, Search & Destroy was a hugely influential recorder of the early Punk scene in America, while also reporting on and interviewing the bands making a name for themselves on the British scene, including Iggy Pop, Blondie, Dead Kennedys, X, Devo, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned, Sham 69, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Buzzcocks and an article on Vivienne Westwood. Complete sets of the original publications are uncommon.

Paris: Fabrique Générale d'Articles de Voyages, 1840. First Edition. Alexis Godillot (1816-1893) was a contemporary of Louis Vuitton (1821-1892) and first achieved renown in Paris for his beautiful hand-made luggage. With a workshop situated just a few blocks away from Vuitton's, this catalogue comes from this very early period of Godillot's life before he had revolutionised footwear by differentiating the moulding of the left shoe from the right and become the famous shoemaker who would go on to equip over one hundred thousand French soldiers for The Crimean War. 'Godillot' remains a slang French term for 'boot' to this day. The album features superb hand-coloured lithographs with an original sketch showcasing nearly one hundred accessories including bags, picnic baskets, apparel, wonderful old trunks, tents, and hammocks- true 'objets nomades' - many of which are in surprisingly bold and modern designs. A complete and excellent set of the five annual issues illustrated with a total of sixty beautiful pochoir plates, complete with decorated pochoir title pages. 'Falbalas and Franfreluches' (Frippery and Finery: Fashion Diaries) represents a literary and artistic collaboration of unusual elegance and sophistication. French illustrator, George Barbier (1882 - 1932) spared no effort in the making of this beautiful collection, using the finest pigments and up to thirty stencils per print to create images of the highest quality reflecting fashionable themes of the day. The plates portray romance amidst exotic lands and ages past, including a native American idyll on the Missouri, a languid mistress cocooned in a hammock in the tropical Antilles, high baroque debauchery, and, of course, a myriad of lovers depicted in Paris at the height of the chic 1920s. Covers Artic and Antarctic expeditions, fishing, flying, motoring, mountaineering, travel, naval and military - with a focus on the classic gabardine Burberry trench coat. A well-put together volume amassing an abundance of first person testimonies. Also includes an appendix on Macintosh's method of rendering fabrics waterproof (Glasgow, 1823). Octavo, bound in original cloth made from Burberry gabadine with paper label, 248 pages, a fine copy.

London: Richards Phillips, 1810. Beautiful and incredibly scarce collection of Regency fashion plates from subscription magazine illustrated with 185 engraved plates, 181 hand-colored and an additional hand-colored allegorical vignette on title page.Rare to find such a large grouping of plates, bound in a single volume, although bound rather haphazardly (several plates out of order, issues run from issue no. 88, May 1805 – no. 142 followed by a number of undated plates from 1810-11).Octavo, half-calf paneled binding with marbled paper inset matching marbled endpapers. Original wrappers not bound in. Also included is one issue of 'La Belle Assemblee', March 1808 with Lady in a Parade Dress in Hyde Park. Internally a little foxed, repairs in inner hinges to (unconvincingly) match the marbled endpapers. Plates in remarkably bright condition. Scarce.

The third 'annata' of what is considered the first French magazine hosts the description and the (first?) iconographic witness of the tournament entitled 'Le Romant des Chevaliers de la Gloire', organized by the Queen Regent, Maria de' Medici, to celebrate the wedding of Louis XIII with Anne of Austria. At the pages 331-58 of the volume there is the report of the celebrations and, above all, of the carrousel, with a detailed legenda of the large plate.
