Second impression of the first edition, issued three months after the original impression. 319pp + lxiv publisher's catalogue at the rear. Original publisher's two-tone boards, lettered in gilt at the spine and in the black at the upper board. Top edge dust soiled and with a touch of light marking to the cloth in two or three places. Spine ends and corner tips a little rubbed, and with some browning to the endpapers and a touch of occasional marking to the leaf margins. A nice crisp bright copy. Forster's first book was originally published in October 1905 with a print run of 1,050 copies; this second impression followed three months later with a print run of 526 copies..
