Vol. 1: 2 ffep + 144 numbered pages, + index + 2 rfep + 60 engravings, some with varying degrees of dampstaining. Vol. 2: 2 ffep + 140 numbered pages + index + 2 rfep + 59 engravings, dampstaining to margins at lower edge (not affecting engravings). All page edges gilt. Matching marbled endpapers. Both volumes with plate of C.E. Beswick and note regarding contents on stationary of "The Rev. The Headmaster Cathedral Choir School, Canterbury." Bound in matching 3/4 green leather with gilt borders. Spine with six compartments and gilt "Cathedral Churches of Great Britain." Expected shelf wear. A very heavily engraved illustrated treatment of each Cathedral, each accompanied by descriptive text. Includes: Salisbury, Canterbury, York, St. Paul's, Wells, Rochester, Winchester, Lincoln, Chichester, Ely, Peterborough, Norwich, Exeter, Bristol and Oxford. A nice association with the Canterbury Cathedral Choir.
