Paris: Firmin Didot, 1823 8vo (20 x 13.2 cm), VIII, 494, [2] pp, half chagrin over marbled boards, with original wrappers bound in (slightly foxed, blind collector stamps on the title and the first page). This is the catalog of the map collection of Duke Aleksandr Lobanov-Rostovsky (1788-1866), a Russian general and diplomat. The catalog was authored by the Duke himself, with assistance from Charles Piquet. This edition is one of the 230 copies privately printed by Firmin Didot.

Naples: Joannes Maria Scotus, 1563 In-4 (21 x 15 cm), [10] ff, 228 pp. Pages 109-110 printed in black and red, featuring the woodcut arms of Phillip II of Spain on the title page, along with numerous woodcut initials, head- and tail-pieces, and 3 woodcut dials with volvelles. Bound in 18th-century vellum-backed boards with a green morocco lettering-piece label, and all edges gilt (the binding shows signs of rubbing, one volvelle on K1 is missing, the lower blank margin of the title is cut away and repaired, browning to quire A, a short marginal tear to R1, and some foxing to the last 3 quires). Provenance from the library of J. Pauss, J.H.S. (inscription at the head of the title), Jesuit monogram on the last page below the colophon; with Dr. Ernest Darmstaedter's stamp on the front pastedown. This is the first edition of the work on the art of cryptography by Neapolitan polymath Giovan Battista Della Porta (1535–1615). Manuscript in Cyrillic chancery hand, 21 x 17 cm, 157 ff. Untrimmed in contemporary wrappers (wrappers stained and soiled, frayed at extremities). Leaves numbered in pencil in modern hand. This manuscript serves as a register of incomes and expenses of the Joseph Volokolamsk Monastery near Moscow for the year 1674.

Two works published in Augsburg by Enderlin explore the popular subject of the Great Turkish War, supplementing "Cyaneae" (1686), "Theatrum novellarum mundi" (1687) and or "Cyaneae Redivivae" (1691). From the library of Anton Ritter von Beck (1812-1895) in Plevna/Cilli (Slovenia). This is the first edition of History of Serbia from the beginning of 1813 to the end of 1815, a rare and important work by Simeon (Sima) Milutinovic (1791-1847), considered one of the founders of modern Serbian literature. The text is in Serbian, with some documents in Russian.

Hugh Everett III (1930-1982) was an American physicist and mathematician best known for his work on the "Relative State" formulation of quantum mechanics, with the first edition published here on pp. 454-462. Everett introduced the concept of the "many-worlds" interpretation of quantum mechanics. According to the "many-worlds" interpretation, every possible outcome of a quantum measurement is realized in a different universe. Antonio Zatta: Venice, 1788 Engraving on 2 sheets measuring 56.5 x 96.5 cm, with an inset titled 'Confini della Moldavia, Palatinato di Kaminiek, F. Parte del Palatinato di Lusuk' measuring 13.5 x 18 cm. Original color. Untrimmed, backed with paper in two places, with slight toning, soiling, and fraying at the extremities, along with small holes in the margins. It is a good copy of a wall map depicting the theater of the Russo-Turkish War of 1787-1792. Interestingly, in the middle of the Black Sea, Zatta inserted a small map of the Palatinate of Podolia and Volhynia.

Augsburg: Matthäus Seutter, 1730 Engraving on 3 sheets joined together, 49.5 x 172.5 cm. Small tears to margins. Strong impression of Matthäus Seutter's map of the Danube and the Black Sea. The map prominently features Hungary along with Transylvania, Moldavia, Wallachia, Croatia, Bosnia, and surrounding countries and provinces. However, it is notable that this map is not included in Szántai's Atlas Hungaricus. Seutter copied 2 west sheets from Visscher's Exactissima Tabula qua tam Danubii Fluvii but added the map of the Black Sea by combining Visscher's map of the Turkish Empire with Russian maps. There are two states of the third sheet with different shapes of Crimea.

Paris: Giovanni Antonio Rizzi-Zannoni, 1774 Engraving on 3 sheets, not joined, measuring 73 x 155 cm (paper slightly toned and creased). When the Russo-Turkish war erupted in 1768, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs commissioned the Italian cartographer Giovanni Antonio Rizzi Zannoni to create a map of the theater of this war. Rizzi Zannoni had access to surveys of Poland conducted by Florian Czaki, a prominent cartographer employed by the last king of Poland and collected by Count Józef Aleksander Jabłonowski. Jabłonowski supported the publication of the map of Poland on 24 sheets, published by Rizzi Zannoni in 1772. The order from the Ministry resulted in this beautiful map, published in 1774 on 6 sheets, ultimately leading to the bankruptcy of Rizzi Zannoni and his flight from Paris. See Konvitz, Josef. Limited to 300 copies, this is no. 295 on Rives paper, bound in original watercolor, depicting a church on the walls of Constantinople (14 x 19.5 cm, signed in pencil bottom right). First edition of of a travel journal penned by Ukrainian artist Alexis Gritchenko (1883-1977), chronicling his two-year sojourn in Constantinople following his emigration from revolutionary Russia and preceding his relocation to France. Cologne, 1617 Copper engraving 280x505 mm on paper 395x525 mm, with Latin text on the verso (margins slightly dusted and stained, left and right margins cut somewhat close (8-10 mm)). "Leopolis (now Lviv in Ukraine), the main city of South Rus, known for its trade in Eastern goods." A good copy of an engraving from the 6th volume of Georg Braun and Franz Hogenberg's Civitates Orbis Terrarum ("Cities of the World"), the first atlas to feature views and descriptions of cities. According to I. Kryp'yakevych and Ya. Isaievych, the engraving was made by Hogenberg based on a drawing by the Italian architect Aurelio Passarotti, who was involved in designing new fortifications for the city in 1607-08. Alongside the title, four coats of arms are depicted in the cartouche: the coat of arms of the city of Lviv from 1526, the coat of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the coat of arms of Lviv Land, and the coat of arms of Lviv, granted by Pope Sixtus V in 1586.
