Book containing six full page line drawings accompanying the story of a cat's pilgrimage, meeting other animals along the way. 1870 original publcation, 21 pages in very bright clean condition just some foxing on first 3 and last 2 pages. Boards are rubbed on edges and surface but still presentable. Spine is possibly respined professionally in cloth the endpapers look original inside so it is a very good piece of work. A wonderful mixture of travel and history of Ireland, 248 pages all text very bright and clean just some foxing to endpapers and second and last blank pages. First UK printing of these two volumes giving the history of the British Settlements in North America. 568 pages in first volume and 416 pages in second, light to medium foxing on some pages, a little heavier on endpapers, lengthy neat ink comments on front endpaper, few other ink notations on endpapers and ink annotations on a few pages. Bookplates of John Peyto Verney and Robert John Verney, both Lord Willoughby de Broke, in each volume.. Original fold out map opposite title page in volume one, this map is in very good condition. Antiquarian cookery book giving receipts for making soups, gravies, ragouts, pies, puddings, pickles and preserves plus home made wines and much more. 525 pages with some foxing and some marks throughout, foxing is a little heavier at beginning and end few pages but not too excessive and percentage of pages affected is around 30 to 35% to a greater or lesser degree of foxing, Page 518 has a tear which has been repaired with see through archival tape, text can still be read,though not as clearly as the rest. London: James Reynolds Hand coloured map of London and environs from Essex down to Surrey laid on cloth backing, not dated but looks around late 1800s possibly a bit earlier. Map size from edge to edge is 30 ½ x 20 Inches in overall clean condition just a few light stains to back which do not come through onto map, on points of a few folds there are small holes of wear but when map is laid out they cannot be seen and all wording is readable, scale is ½ inch to one mile. Folds into a hard cover 7 x 4 ¼ inches, which is worn on edges and on surface, opens onto marbled endpaper and a cutting advertising the maps of James Reynolds, this has been pasted to the inside of front board and is a two page fold out which is torn in the middle but is not original to the map but is a cutting from a newspaper.A pleasing clean copy of an old map SEE IMAGE. Details of the trial concerning the case of the royal Hospital for seamen at Greenwich in relation to the alleged mismanagement and abuses thereof and of Captain Thomas Baillie Governor of the said hospital under a prosecution for libel. 83 pages in overall clean condiition just some light browning to endpapers and light foxing spots, slight tanning to pages as usual due to quality of paper used. Presentation handwritten INSCRIPTION from author on inside front board E ?????? Esq with Mr Harston's compliments 21st November 1917. Where qustion marks are I cannot decipher name possibly Hurd.
