Brooklyn, New York:: Miriam Schaer,, 2005.. One-of-a-Kind. 7 x 23 x 4" sculpture using opera gloves. Attached to the palm of the left hand a 2 x 1.75", 9-page miniature book, an accordion structure in apple-shaped pages on which is the digitally printed W. B. Yeats' text, an excerpt from "The Song of the Wandering Aengus." Sculpture housed in linen clamshell box. Miriam Schaer: "Golden Apples ponders the quest for love. It was created originally for the installation Chapel of Uncommon Prayer. Created entirely of books and book objects using hand shapes and gloves, created using traditional book binding techniques in a non-traditional way, the exhibition explores the personal relationship to prayer and devotion, in a world with increasingly difficult, often unanswerable questions."

Rebecca Goodale: "The Ribbon Snake has been added to the Special Concern list in the state of Maine. Thamnophis sauritus is a smaller, more delicate snake than the garter snake."

Handbound in laser-engraved plexiglass covers with Coptic binding of linen thread. Signed and numbered by the artist. Islam Aly: "Sacred Meanings is based on the hexagon, one of the main shapes in creating grids and patterns in Islamic art. The form of the book, its words, and its progression reveals the fading and development of a pattern. The book invites viewers to consider their experiences with the transcendent and indivisible. Sacred Meanings presents an encounter that deals with the dichotomies of life, fall and rise, suspicion and faith, disorientation and orientation, chaos and order.

The book was inspired from Ibn Al Mqufas's Kalila and Dimna, a ninth-century collection of animal fables, which came to Persia from India. Handmade paper by Bernie and Patty Vinzannni as well as handmade paper by Katie MacGregor. Signed and numbered by the artist. Poem and book by the artist inspired by spiders in her life.

Cradle Verses. 1880. Illuminated Manuscript of Four Poems by Frederick Locker, written by his own hand, with extensive illustrations in watercolors by Kate Greenaway. This charming book was prepared on commission for presentation on the birthday of Frederick Locker's wife, Jane. 24mo., [48] pages; presentation vellum binding with full watercolors on corners, titled: "Babies and Blossoms", all edges green. Housed in custom green morocco leather box, gilt-lettered: "Hannah Jane Locker | 1880", with hand-made velvet pouch.

Materials: intaglio prints, screen prints, pastel, thread, artist's hair, permanent ink. Includes collage and handwritten text. Signed by the arist. A miniature version of Terry's original serires "America, Guests Who Came to Dinner (and Stayed)." Evelyn Patricia Terry: "'America, Guests Who Came to Dinner (and Stayed)', an altered book series, transforms books with cut, torn, sewn and glued original prints, drawings and handmade paper produced during my 50-plus year printmaking and drawing career. A fine copy of this expertly printed little volume in a highly attractive leather binding of beautiful full dark green morocco by Lanscelin. Spine with five raised bands, each with gilt piping. Compartments double ruled, lettered and fully decorated in gilt. Boards with triple gilt ruled borders. Stamped monogram to the front board. Board edges double ruled in gilt. Turn-ins with elaborate gilt roll. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Orange, gold and green silk book marker sewn in. A fine copy, housed in a marbled paper covered slip-case. The slip-case has seen some damage and has been repaired with sticky tape to the edges, but has done the job of keeping the book in fine condition. A marvellous piece of book production, both the text and the binding.

Six Volumes, 4" h x 3" w. Peter Rabbit is dated 1911 other five are 1905. Bound in original red paper covered boards with pictorial down the front covers that are surrounded by a stamped design of holly and berries. White paper inside aged with yellowish tint. each book has numerous full-page color and some black and white illustrations throughout, the only credited illustrator John R. Neill for Peter Rabbit. Introductions by L. Frank Baum. Publisher's ads at ends. A Very Good set, lacking the original slipcase, spines are rubbed and falling apart, binding on Cinderella is gone. Interior contents are good solid some pages do have pencil writing/ marks from a child SCARCE as a complete set. The tumultuous and complicated history of "Little Black Sambo" as a book and as a pejorative term adds a painful overlay to this otherwise charming Christmas stocking stuffer.
