Illustrated throughout with contemporary reproductions of drawings advertisements and photographs, and facsimiles of documents. Colour illustrated dust jacket, has faded on the spine section from exposure to light. Slight rubbing to the top of the dust jacket at the fold over tips and head of the spine, and slight loss of colour through rubbing to the bottom edges of the boards. Inscribed "with my best wishes to Leslie," and then signed by the author on the title page. There is a grubby mark on the front edge of the text block.
