Bookstore sticker, rental fee ""This book 15c a day"" written in and about a dozen due dates(all from 1974, the year of publication) stamped to front free endpaper. Rfep creased. Jacket is unclipped ($6.95) and glossy with some patchy fading, but no wear, tears or chips.

Laid in is a photograph of the author. A near fine book with just a hint of pushing to the spine tips. The dust jacket, which is now protected in a removable, clear cover (not shown), has a 1.5 cm closed tear on the fore edge of the upper panel, some fading to the author's name on the spine and a little rubbing to the spine tips, edges and corners. All in all a very nice 1st UK Edition of this love story set in Harlem in the early 1970s about a man falsely accused of rape and filmed under the same name in 2018.
