Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is slightly dulled.

A little bumping to the head and to the heel of the spine and a very minor amount of shelfwear to the lower book edges. Browning, dust marks and slight foxing to the top paper edge. Offset tanning to the endpapers. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste down. Illustrated dust wrapper, by Lynton Lamb, with black and white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the spine. The dust wrapper is rubbed and slightly faded. The dust wrapper corners are rubbed and chipped as is the top dust wrapper spine edge. Clipping of the dust wrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. Taped to front panel of DJ is a small card which states "Kurt Frings Agency (Beverly Hills. ) " Laid in the book is a short TLS, on Kurt Frings letterhead, presenting this book to noted screenwriter/director Delmer Daves; it is addressed to Daves at Columbia Pictures in Hollywood, and signed by Larry Turman. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

This statement was signed in our presence when we purchased the book from Ms. Hill at her home in Pittsburgh, after she moved from Bisbee, Arizona, where she had resided with Eastlake.

Letter is on onion skin paper with Eastlake Ranch, Cuba New Mexico letterhead. Fine book with a nudge at head of spine in a bright jacket with a quarter inch closed tear at head of spine.
