All the edges are gilt. There is some light soiling to the spine & the bottom edges of the covers. xxxiv, [1] leaf & 305 pages. There is an owner's ink name on the front endpaper. Black-and-white frontispiece & profuse black-and-white textual illustrations by Hugh Thomson. Very good.

There is a braided lock of hair in the book. If ordering, please advise if it should be included or discarded before sending the book. no date, probably late 1800's.

The rear board and end paper are stained by damp. Otherwise, the contents are tanned, foxed, earnestly produced, clear, assured, capable. This small hardcover book from 1892 is in good condition. It is bound in blue and white pictorial cloth with gold decor.and has blue flowered endsheets, and has numerous engraved illustrations. The top page edges are gilded. Well over a century in age, this is a very pretty copy of a classic work of literature.
