Johnson (1935-1998) was a poet who lived in San Francisco for 25 years, active in the gay community, co-founder of the Rainbow Motorcycle Club which was formed in the No Name Bar on Folsom St. which he managed. 'The Book of the Green Man' was published posthumously in 2015. First edition (first printing). A near fine copy in wrappers (paperback). Slight tanning to cover edges.

Cover is shelfworn; tanned and rubbed, both inside and out, wear and creasing to cover, corners, edges and folds, small closed tears to edges, minor repair to spine head. Age-related discolouration to cover. Pageblock is tanned, leading into page edges. Within, pages are tightly bound, and content is clear, bright and unmarked. CN. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. Used.

Offsetting on wrappers and a couple of tiny spots on front wrap, very good or better. Inscribed by Johnson (utilizing his printed name on the first page to artist R.B. Kitaj: "Duly corrected in Dulwich by [Ronald Johnson] in October, 4th, '66 for Ron Kitaj, etc." Johnson has made corrections to the formatting of the poems on pages 12 and 18.
