Book has rubbing that removes most of the white on front board, sun to spine, wear to corners and spine ends, binding tender with inner hinges cracked, text clean and unmarked. No DJ.

Book has mild toning and wear to edges of boards, binding tight, front endpapers heavily off-set, otherwise text clean and unmarked. DJ has edgewear that includes tears and chips, rubbing and soil, now in archival mylar wrap.

Very Good condition decorated cloth in good+ unclipped dust jacket (loss of small amount of material from top edge) No inscriptions. Scarce as first edition in this series.

The interior of the book is clean and tight, with no signatures, marks or wear. The 8 colour plates are present. The red cloth covers are bright, with minor wear at tips and corners. The dust jacket is not price-clipped, and is also in very good condition, with light edge wear overall, but heavier wear to the spine, including shallow chipping at the top and bottom The attached scan should give a better idea of condition. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover.

Light rubbing of the boards, and there is some foxing to the preliminary pages and the edges of the text block; overall, this book is in good to very good condition.
