Volume I entitled Portrait of a Publisher, 1915-1965: Reminiscences and Reflections by Alfred A. Knopf (xiv, 298pp, photos). Volume II entitled Portrait of a Publisher, 1915-1965: Alfred A. Knopf and the Borzoi Imprint: Recollections and Appreciations, by various authors (xiii, 302pp, photos). Both volumes contain an introduction by Paul A. Bennett and they comprise Typophile Chapbooks 42 and 43, respectively. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall .

Dust jackets are fine except for a millimeter-wide nick to spine of Volume II. Spotting to top of slipcase. 4 1/2 x 7 inches. 598 pages total.

Still a very nice set in a scuffed and water-stained slipcase. A treasure trove of information both by and about, one of the most important publishers of the twentieth century.

I find it particularly pleasing that Knopf chose to print this in two 12mos rather than a larger, more imposing book. From the collection of bibliophile Water A.
