Former Library Book.183, [1], 38 pp. Text unmarked except for usual library treatments. Foxed throughout. Marbled endpapers. Illustrated with an engraved portrait of Thomas Campbell, and one other engraved illustration. Brown leather boards with gilt borders at front, back, and spine, re-lettered in black at spine. Boards scuffed, edges rubbed, corners bumped and worn to boards, spine very worn, top and tail chipped and frayed. Joints and hinges good, binding firm.

"With Memoir, Explanatory Notes etc". In good blue cloth boards, black titles and rondel with three standing males to front; gilt decorated spine with gilt and blue titles. The boards are flat, a little marked; loose front cover from damage to hinge; spine and corners bumped and slightly frayed. Fairly clean pale yellow end papers; prize plate on front paste down; name of previous owner on front free end paper (very loose). Very tanned cut edges. The text block is in good plus condition, with loose Prelims and 'Prefatory Memoir'; pages straight and lightly tanned around the edges.

Endpapers soiled, moderate foxing throughout, binding is tight and sound.

Undated, but a gift inscription dated 1863 is penned to the front page. Text block fairly solid and firm. Size: 24mo - over 5 in - 5? in tall.

Dark brown cloth binding, gold printing on spine, some volumes in this series with label " Bound by B. Bradley and Co. Boston". Condition of each volume is VERY GOOD: wear and soiling to covers, corners lightly bent, spines chipping esp. at ends, light chipping to covers, edges of text block darkened- top edge a bit more so, pages clean- first and last few pages lightly foxed- frontis foxed, bindings tight.
