Brief edgewear, lightly soiled & age-tanned, staples rusted causing small stains, otherwise very good. The King Syndicate's response to the success of Little Orphan Annie, this featuring little Annie Rooney, also an orphan, & dog Zero. Though clearly a knock-off, the Annie Rooney franchise enjoyed considerable appeal & ran as a comic strip from 1927 to 1966. Ms. Rooney advises to be "real careful when you're wishing" in her foreword.

Mankato, Minnesota: Creative Editions, (1983). First American edition, this copy inscribed & signed in black marker at the copyright page by the illustrator: For Morgan (printed) - "Now for Marty (?)/ with love/ Sarah Moon." 8vo (8.75" 6.25"), 40 unnumbered pages, with illustrations throughout from photographs. Publisher's glossy pictorial paper over boards, without dust jacket as issued.
Small bruise at the bottom edge of the boards, otherwise fine.
Features haunting illustrations by fashion model turned photographer Sarah Moon (born Marielle Warin) who posed her daughter as subject for these images.

Brief wear (including slight fraying & a couple of nicks) at spine extremities & corners, spine gilt dull, previous owner's name in ink at the first blank page, moderately toned, offsetiing at last blank from news clipping, Good or better. An adventure story for boys featuring wonder dog Boru, an Irish Wolfhound, which was originally published serially in Boy's Life magazine. The author was a prolific contributor to the pulp magazines of Street & Smith.

A fine copy in very good dust jacket lightly rubbed & slightly browned. Charming illustrations & foreword by Emily Barto relaying a variation of the English lullaby, "Tom, Tom the Piper's Son." Emily Newton Barto painted murals at Fordham Hospital in New York City as a participant in the Works Project Administration's Federal Arts Project.

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1904 (title page), with copyright date of 1920. Later printing circa 1930's. Octavo (9.5" x 7.25"), x, 199, & [1] pages plus 8 color plates by Maxfield Parrish. Publisher's black cloth lettered in gilt on the spine, with a large Parrish-illustrated pictorial label applied to the upper cover, in pictorial dust jacket which replicates the applied label. Pictorial endpapers, title page illustrated in color, top edge stained pale red.
Please note, given the advertisements for "Scribner Illustrated Classics" on the dust jacket, this edition is circa 1930's.
Binding lightly soiled, slightly toned internally, last leaf of text roughly opened causing small loss in the margin (printing unaffected), otherwise Very Good or better in dust jacket which is browned mostly at the spine, moderately soiled, with edge wear including a couple of nicks & small losses, still a Very Good & unusually nice example.

Binding lightly soiled, corners bumped, brief gift inscription at the verso of the half-title page, text a bit toned, a Very Good copy in soiled & browned dust jacket with tears & small losses, Good or so The ninth book (of 12) in Grosset & Dunlap's "Make-Believe Stories" series, which was a product of the Stratemeyer Syndicate. This particular series was almost certainly written by Howard & Lilian Garis. Ms. Garis, also writing as Laura Lee Hope, of course, is better known for her Bobbsey Twins books & her husband for his Uncle Wiggley titles.

Prague, Czechoslovakia: Artia, (1958). Oblong quarto (8.25" x 10.5"), publisher's pictorial boards backed in light gray cloth-patterned paper initialed in print on the front cover by Vojtech Kubasta & signed in print at the colophon. The front cover features an oval cutout showing Snow White which revolves to reveal the seven dwarfs, with text in Dutch & 8 pop ups within (as issued).
Lightly rubbed, couple of bruises in the edges, corners bumped, slightly soiled, previous owner's name in ink at the colophon, otherwise very good or better.
A delightful & early pop up book by architect & artist Vojtech Kubasta (1914 - 1992). Beginning in 1956, he designed & illustrated pop ups for Artia, the Cold War-era state-owned publishing house in Prague. Kubasta's books have been translated into 24 languages & over 35 million copies have been sold.
