Dr. C. G. Jung, c. 1928 to 1941. A SET OF ELEVEN NOTEBOOKS.Covers are marbled green (with one red cover and one blue cover) spines are covered as black canvas with gilt lettering. From the working library of scholar Virginia Case, these notebooks are heavily annotated in the scholarÕs handwriting with notes throughout the books and clean ruled lines to important sections of each notebook. Case has extensively handwritten notes on the inside boards and first flyleaf referencing certain passages and page numbers. Also tipped in are various ephemeral decorative cards and notes with personal letters and articles plus Virginia CaseÕs own notes to others and to herself. We have left the paperwork and notes where found in the volume(s). This is an extensively drawn archive from the scholarÕs personal library. Random House, 1968. First edition, first printing. Full signature by John Irving. The popular author's first book with his full back cover photograph. Front cover illustrated by Robert Dale. Very close to fine in like illustrated dust jacket. Quite a beautiful edition. Unique in that unlike many copies, this edition is signed by John Irving on the opening flyleaf, taking up the full size of the flyleaf. NOT signed on a bookplate, but freely signed to the front flyleaf in the early years of the author's career. Gift quality.

The David Company, 1987. First edition, first printing. Flourishing inscription to a young poet and fully signed by Gwendolyn Brooks dated the year of publication in 1987 on the second flyleaf. A seminal title by this poet with prose and poetry. The complete text of her well known titles: A Street in Bronzeville / The Bean Eaters / In the Mecca / Riot / Maud Martha / Annie Allen / and most of "family pictures". Gwendolyn Brooks was the first Black author to win a Pulitzer Prize in 1950. She mainly lived in Chicago all of her life. Fine bright blue boards with gilt titles in like dust jacket with just a light age tone as well as to the block edge. A lovely edition and gift quality. Very scarce. from Holland : Brummense, 1977. First edition, first printing. 156 index cards in only 151 original copies stored in a handmade blue cloth box, silver stamped tied with a rose ribbon. Fine. Signed by Carolee Schneeman as #39 of 151, numbered copies, all collected together between March to November 1976. Beautiful color cards as a compendium of loose leaves in handmade blue cloth box and its contents function as both unstructure and narrative book work and as a performance score. The pink index cards contain comments and advice from friends. The yellow cards are a diary / dream extracts. While the blue cards hold the comments by Anthony and by the artist's new lover Bruce shown as 'B". "C" is the artist herself. The design and format was intended as an open ended reading of the piece and the relationships in no particular order. First performed at Franklin Furnace in New York City in November 1976, followed by performances by Carolee Schneeman in both Holland and Amsterdam.… Leer más

From the library of poet and editor Cid Corman as an intriguing association copy in that Cid Corman like Allen was an active editor in the 1960s and onward. Cid was invited into the anthology and refused for Cid reasons - a cross blend of poets here is exciting from Stuart Z. Perkoff to Gary Snyder, Barbara Guest to Madeline Gleason, Ray Bremser to Lew Welch and then many of the very well known : John Ashbery, Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, Charles Olson, Paul Blackburn, Gregory Corso. This fine full collage by Larry Rivers is the cover. Another plus is that it is edited by Donald Allen. Jacket is very good to near fine on the outside; reverse shows some age tone and a light wrinkle. From the private library of poet and editor of Origin Cid Corman with his signed bookplate. A strong association copy of the two contemporary poets, both residing at one time in the state of Massachusetts. This copy is clean and not marked with annotations, unusual for Cid Corman's personal books

Fine and bright in near fine dust jacket. Text in Italian. Small interior mend to the back dust jacket, not all noticeable on the outside. With a book blurb in Italian by John Updike, who was a fan. With his business card tipped in as well as a long typed written page to the poet Janine Pommy Vega from Aymon who is detailing the background to the publication and his life in 1997. It seems only nine were printed which includes an appreciation in the opening from Gerard Malanga and Larry Rivers along with Taylor Mead. Aymon has affectionately inscribed this issue to Janine Pommy Vega describing it as a 7th of nine only printings on June 21, 1997. Fine illustrated by de Sales in heavy acetate color cover with spool binding. The artist's work in color throughout. This French author with undisclosed birth date passed away in 2001 and was the major character in the book "Chocolates for Breakfast" by Pamela Moore in 1955. De Sales had a long history of contact with poets and artists including Philip Lamantia, Timothy Leary, Taylor Mead. The Moo Bird was one of his iconic signatures. The poet's first book has become very scarce from the library of the poet Genevieve Taggard with the poet's personal bookplate to the opening flyleaf. Also inscribed from Stanley Kunitz to Genevieve Taggard with a quietly sincere inscription. Just the lightest penciling by Taggard to the text. A working copy for the poet. A wonderful association copy in its dust jacket. Near fine gray boards with paper title label to spine as issued in like dust jacket with its common darkening and the book is nearly 100 years old. A fine association copy being Taggard's own work book and closely read by the poet page by page

C Press, 1964. First edition, first printing. Mimeographed, one of 300 copies. Large stapled wraps with slight scuff to back side of book and very fine to behold. The poet's landmark book. The editor was Ron Padgett published by Lorenz and Ellen Gude at C Press. Berrigan has dedicated his masterpiece to Joe Brainard, as often the case, the back cover is missing usually because the text stock was too thick for the staples to adhere.
