First Edition. Frontispiece (portrait) heavily foxed, and scattered foxing to other illustrations including maps. Cloth faded and extremities rubbed or worn. Upper external hinges cracked and front board detached as a result. Titling piece on spine at right hand edge, with some loss. Otherwise a good copy, and text generally very good.

(Melbourne: D.W. Paterson Co., Printers and Publishers: 1907) Second Edition. Decorated cloth (that is, hard covers) pp. x, 240 and 2 (Press Reviews of the first edition). Illustrated from Photographs. ‘Press Copy’ in red ink on title page. INCOMPLETE: Lacks the plate at p. 68 which is supplied in photocopy. Spine sunned; head and foot of spine and corners of boards worn; a few light marks and fading to boards with unobtrusive discoloration from damp near the head of the front board and spine; tide mark to inner lower corners of fixed endpapers; leading edge of p. 3-4 marginally frayed; otherwise generally very good.

A cancelled ex-library copy. Spine is slightly slanted and inner hinges cracked. Wrappers a little foxed and lightly silverfished; edges of wrappers lightly rubbed; red and blue cord a little faded; otherwise a near fine copy.

Subscribed below the introductory address ‘To the Christian Readers; Chiefly to such who were the Subscribers for, and principal Promoters of the Publication of this work’ is printed Benjamin Keach and his address. The address ‘From my House at Horse-lie-down, in Freeman’s-Lane, Southwark, Septemb. 13. 1694’ is written out in full much larger than the reduced font of the printer, and with some small variation in spelling. This book of sermons by the redoubtable Baptist also includes the words only of two ‘Hymns of Praise’. (Leipzig: Verlag von Bernhard Schlicke: no date) Attractive bookplate of Hahndorf-Schule, South Australia, printed by Gall, Adelaide, on front fixed endpaper, with inscription dated November [27th?] 1864. Pictorial (lithographic) boards (that is, hard covers) pp. viii, 112 (198 x 130 mm) Text in German throughout. Mit Illustrationen in Buntdruck von Ludwig Hofmann: frontispiece and three other plates, all additional to the pagination, illustrative of life in Java. An owner's name in pencil at head of front free endpaper and again at head of half-title page. Head and foot of spine, external hinges and edges and corners of boards rubbed and in places worn; scattered moderate foxing and in places staining to the text pages, without diminishing their legibility, while the plates are but little affected; a good copy.

(Melbourne: George Robertson: 1880) First Australian Edition. Decorated green cloth lettered in gilt on spine (that is, hard covers) pp. viii, 255. Partly erased rubber stamp on title page and an owner's signature and inscription on dedication page. Head and foot of spine and corners of boards worn; cloth bubbled; gilt lettering a little rubbed in parts; inner hinges beginning to split; generally very good.

(London: J.F. Shaw and Co.: no date) Suggest about 1890 as last Annual Report for 1889 is mentioned, although the date of 1893 would tally better with a narrative set 22 years before in 1871. Pictorial wrappers (that is, paper covers) plus pp. 40 (110 x 82 mm). Illustrated. Australia proves to be a land of opportunity for three ex-Barnardo children. Tiny chips to upper corners of wrappers; short marginal tear to rear wrapper; a little very light soiling to wrappers; a very good copy and internally near fine.

(Adelaide: Printed and published for the Proprietor, Paris Nesbit, Q.C. by a variety of printers: Wednesday, August 29, 1900 – Wednesday, December 5, 1900) Green cloth (340 x 215 mm). All issues pp. 8, although No. 1 has an additional two-page supplement. A typically Nesbit production, humorous, pugnacious, partisan, with his signed gift inscription on the front free endpaper. Green cloth somewhat flecked and soiled, the front endpapers silverfished, the first page of No. 5 soiled by similar vermin; otherwise very good if not near fine.

Illustrated with two photographs laid down, a portrait frontispiece and a painted landscape. Includes his prize essay 'The Difficulties of Colonization in the Northern Territory'. First Edition. An ownership inscription on verso of front free endpaper. Spine sunned and a few marks to cloth; a very good copy.

Ltd. three times a year, April, August and December or thereabouts) Original pictorial or decorated wrappers (that is, paper covers) and 245 x 175 mm or thereabouts in dimensions. The pagination varies from 24 to 56. Illustrated from photos, drawings The publication provides predominantly a rich insight into the lives of working people – and the nascent middle class– linesmen, carpenters, watchmen, meter readers, storemen, mechanics and the other myriad occupations needed in supplying electricity to Adelaide and ultimately to the whole state. Few magazines span South Australia to quite the same extent. The work and leisure activities change over the years while human preoccupations with births, marriages deaths, sporting fixtures and social events remain relatively unchanging. A gift inscription to a scout from 'his comrades of the 1st Manoora Troop B.P. Boy Scouts in memory of the happy times spent together. June 20th 1911.' (London: Alston Rivers, Limited: 1907) First Edition. Maroon cloth lettered and decorated in gilt (that is, hard covers) pp. xvi, 174, 2 publisher’s advertisements. Top edge gilt. Spine a little sunned; small stain on front board; cloth a little flecked; otherwise near fine.

Cover heading: 150 Years of Progress in New South Wales 1788-1938. (Adelaide: G.H. Baring: 1938) Pictorial wrappers (that is, paper covers) plus pp. 212 (285 x 450 mm). The Foreword states that ‘the Business streets of the City and Seaside Towns are photographed (in street formation) for public information in the buildings and advertising signs’ achieving exceptional ‘printing art’ founded on his successful ‘Progressive Adelaide’ of 1936 and that the ‘copyright system of street reproduction has never been attempted in the world before, and is new and novel in every respect’. Has been folded vertically otherwise a near fine copy of a remarkable publication whose weighty landscape format militated against its survival.

For the publishing of which, the owners and some of the writers were interned as traitors to Australia. (Chippendale, NSW: Stafford Printery: no date) Introductory by one of the owners subscribed Sydney, 1946. Wrappers (that is, paper covers) plus pp. 52 (246 x 186 mm). Lacks rear wrapper and the slightly damaged front panel tipped onto the replacement card wrappers; internally very good.

([Brighton S.A.]: Brighton Cement: July, 1950 – June, 1951; July 1952 – June 1959; July 1961 – April-May-June 1964) 105 issues bound with wrappers in eleven volumes with quarter-cloth boards (that is, hard covers) (265 x 215 mm). A substantial roneoed magazine intended to keep workers at Brighton, SA and eventually Angaston and Roseworthy informed and entertained about company activities and the world at large. From issue No. 64 the title changes to ‘Sapco Brighton Cement News’. The combining of the April-May-June 1964 issue was the result of a fire which gutted the Sapco News office. They lost their entire archives as well as the special Anzac edition for April ‘only two days before despatch to the printing section at the Adelaide Office’. The editor reports that ‘he is back to where he started the Sapco News in 1950’. Some flecking to cloth and silverfishing to boards; internally near fine.
