Includes all 5 etchings signed and numbered by Norman Lindsay in pencil as well as the frontispiece portrait. All tissue guards are present with the tissue for the illustration on page 35 (The Dance of Innocence) having a several inch tear running up from the bottom edge toward the gutter. This copy needs to be rebound- needs to be re-backed (cream vellum), green cloth boards are rubbed through at the corners with moderate soiling. Front hinge is nearly cracked and rear hinge is only slightly better. Text block binding is good. No marks or notations. Light foxing. 139 pp. 37.5 x 28 x 2 cm. 1919. Feel free to inquire.

Includes 2 original Artist Proof Lithographs- Signed By Francoise Gilot- one is inscribed to actor Sam (Sam Jaffe) and the other is inscribed to actress Bettye (Bettye Jaffe).

Front hinge is started but otherwise has a good binding. Few pages at the beginning and end have moisture marks. Pencil and pen scribble on the endpapers and title page- rear pastedown pencil writing seems to recount a family member being possibly involved in the battle of Chancellorsville (Civil War). No marks or notations to the text. Front free endpaper is loose but included. No maps or plates. Brown leather with red spine label.

Orange cloth boards include the clear plastic wrapper- only issue is at the bottom edge of the front board, there is short pen streak by the front joint with the wrapper chipped at the same bottom edge. Full leather, non-contemporary strip of leather attached over the spine and joints with a square opening for the original spine label to show. Front board is detached but included and rear board is splitting along the joint ends but is still currently attached. Board corners rubbed through. Frontispiece portrait, title page and dedication page are loose but included. Otherwise textblock is solid, no missing pages. Front free endpaper has "The Property of Rob. D. Montgomery Dec. 17, 1803" written in pen along the top edge. Another name, not very legible is written in pencil underneath dated 1866. Rear pastedown has "Page 294" written in pen, on page 294 a name is underlined. No other marks or notations. 506 pages. A rare piece of entertainment and art history.
