Published in four volumes, bound as two. iv, 230 pp., iv, 294 pp. Three quarter leather with brown leather at spine and corners, four raised bands with gold embossed titling that has faded, volume numbers still somewhat bright. Wear and chipping to covers, losses at corners, marble paper insets on each volume scuffed as well. Front pastedown of each volume split at gutter, text block still attached to cover board by cords.

An extremely scarce catalog from Xu Bing's (b. 1955) first exhibition in the United States, signed by Bing on the title page. The exhibition was held at the Elvehjem Museum of Art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison November 30, 1991-January 19, 1992. 32 pp. 4to. Translucent covers with a design of Chinese characters from the artist's most famous work, "A Book from the Sky." Clean and crisp within.

Full leather binding that has been rebacked in a very nice repair with gold embossed titling and line decoration. Wear and scuffing to boards. Darkening to endpapers from age of paper and leather, library bookplate and "withdrawn" sticker on front pastedown. Quite clean within.

Über dass Wasserstoffspektrum vom Standpunkt der neuen Quantenmechanik" by Wolfgang Pauli (pp. 336-363) in which Pauli outlines his theory of the hydrogen spectrum which contributed to the study of quantum mechanics; "Zur Deutung einiger Erscheinungen in den Molekelspektren" by Freidrich Hund (pp. 657-674) is his early paper on Molecular Orbital Theory; "Zur Quantelung des Idealen Einatomigen Gases" by Enrico Fermi (pp. 902-912) outlines what became known as Fermi-Dirac statistics. vii, 951 pp, 8vo. Volume is ex-library with brown patterned paper boards, lighter brown cloth spines and corner tips; gold embossed titling to spine. Library stamps within, including stamps on title page of each volume, very clean with card pocket remaining on the rear pastedown of each volume. All text in German.

Recent brown three quarter leather bindings with five raised bands at spine, burgundy and black title patches with gold embossed titling, gold lines offsetting bands, marbled paper insets to front and rear boards. Clean within.

Sea Cliff, NY: The Absolute Sound, 1973-2005. First Edition. Wraps. Very Good. The premiere magazine for audiophiles, still in print in its 45th year. Unique in this large of a run. 147 issues, missing #5, 133, 140, & 144. Issues progressed over time from stapled 8vo size to its fourth size iteration in 1999 as a standard magazine 4to. This run of 147 issues is in Very Good to Fine condition overall with a few tears to issues here and there are losses to the front of issue #56 and rear of issue #57, as well as the front of that same issue and rear of issue #58 where they stuck together in storage. Issue #151 has a permanent "Courtesy of..." sticker on the front cover. Interiors clean and crisp. Will require additional postage due to weight of set.

Three papers by Karl Pearson (1857-1936) on inherited intelligence and the correlation of intelligance and physical features. Pearson was also a proponent of eugenics. Also contains Norman Lockyer (1836-1920) and Frances Cranmer Penrose's (1817-1903) article, "An Attempt to Ascertain the Date of the Original Construction of Stonehenge from its Orientation" that acccurately predicted the date of Stonehenge (1680 BC) by measuring the difference between its orientation and the direction of sunrise at the summer solstice. vii, [1], 501 pp. 8vo. Blue cloth spine and corners with marbled paper insets to covers. Five raised bands with gold titling to spine, call number handwritten in white ink at base of spine. Wear and scuffing to both from library use. Ex-library with bookplate and library stamp on title page of each volume, some library stamps within. Numerous plates illustrate articles.
