Catalog features mostly leather goods associated with hand guns to include holsters of all types and uses, gun belts, hand cuff cases, cartridge slide loops, rifle scabbards, "Buscadero" belts, finely carved belts with initials, cartridge belts, and sterling silver belt buckles, loops and tips, etc. Two order forms enclosed plus mailing envelope. The maps are "Outline Map of St. Anna Harbor, Curacao, Dutch West Indies" and an untitled map showing shipping routes and distances from Curacao to ports in the U.S., England, France, Spain, Italy, Chile, and South Africa. The text promotes Curacao as having "the best natural harbor in the world," ideally placed for steamers en route to the Panama Canal to safely and quickly refuel with affordable coal. The illustrations show the wharves populated with ships from around the world, and testimonials are reproduced from customers who have been satisfactorily supplied with coal and fresh water by Maduro & Sons. Van Dine (1888-1939) ranging in size from 1.75" x 3.75" to 8" x 10". The photographs date from when Van Dine was three months old, to the year before his death. With annotations on verso of some by various family members. Professional portraits taken by Eugene R. Richee, Disraeli, Jack Chinn, and various other studios. Photographs include Van Dine as a baby and a young boy; as an 18-year-old, having been expelled from Harvard; as an older man in various poses in his home and library; and as a successful writer, posed with Hollywood stars George Burns and Gracie Allen, who were to star in "The Gracie Allen Murder Case." The deluxe edition has the name of the game stamped in gilt on the front, the game board is of nicer quality, six "suspects" player cards are in color, the player's pieces are cast figures in six different colors, and the "Judge" is also a cast figure. The box is in nice condition with two corners in need of reinforcement, overall box, contents, game board, etc. are in solid very good condition. We have handled the "trade edition" of this game a few times in the past 35 years, but this is the first copy of the deluxe version we have ever handled or known was ever available to be sold.

AHC 117 says, "This biography of Sacajawea was controversial because of the contention by the author that the Shoshone woman who accompanied the Lewis and Clark expedition lived for many years after her supposed death. Thus only small editions were issued over the years." Previous owner's bookplate and name neatly written in upper corner on front endpaper, else an exceptionally fine, bright copy in protective slipcase.

Included are biographies of doctors who served the remote areas to administer to epidemic sticken families, pioneering settlers, and miners who obtained wealth or sadly toiled hard to find nothing. Also information on Captain Jack, the Modocs, and a general history of the Mt. Shasta area. Near fine in dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends.

Everything pointed to Andrew MacGregor as the murderer .... he admitted being in the vicinity of the murder at the exact time it took place, there was bad blood between the two men, and the morning after the murder he was seen washing blood from his clothes. The evidence was conclusive yet many believed because of his outstanding character that he was innocent of the crime. The services of an outstanding detective were engaged to learn the truth and uncover the real murderer. An uncommon title, especially with the dust jacket.
