Together with his younger brother, Charles Edwin, Henry Ernest Gatliff went to South Africa to join the British Forces to fight in the Boer War (1899-1902). He fought with the Canadian Scouts and was slightly wounded. This postcard was sent from Fresno California after the war on his way back to Australia. Creasing and wear at edges of card..
