Remains a clean and good dust jacket. A very good copy.

A facsimile reprint in the Victorian Library series of the two volume second edition published in 1854. First edition was published in1853. William Arnold was the younger brother of Matthew Arnold. Some underlining in ink with notations on rear flap of dustjacket. Both the book and the price-clipped jacket show some wear, with some rubbing to the jacket. Still a very nice copy.

Toronto: Gallery One, 2005. Soft cover. [210 x 210mm]. Stapled spine. One small scuffmark to front cover. Pages clean. Inscribed by Barry Oretsky: "To Greg, opening day. 'To the madness that is art.' All the best, Barry." The quotation is from Henry James and Oretsky told Greg he keeps it pinned to a wall in his studio so that he sees it every day. Good provenance, available on request.

Inscribed at the head of the title-page, "A present From the Author," with ink underline and note presumably by the author, on p. 217. An excellent copy, inscribed by the author, and bound by celebrated Canadian Book binder Yehuda Miklaf.
