Schjeldahl writes re: Kurtulus, and asks if his name 'really' means "A Happy Branch" in Turkish and if so, could Ayden describe the Turkish word, that is what part means happy, and what part means branch. Signed in violet ink, creaslined with several spots and bit of rumbled corner.

New Hampshire , 1951. Letter. Fine. In the letter Downey thanks McDonald for the addtions to the saga of GI Jenny, and speaks of his mascot series in Blue Book with Charlemagne's elephant. "Ill see you anon in my favorite haunt, the NYPL", Fairfax Downey
