From the library of the Crum Ewings and the Hamiltons of Lowood house. 25 pages of engravings and one folding plate.  Other copies cite 31 leaves of plates.  This copy has also been bound without the front and rear blanks.Dated 1692, with the date presented as MDCVIIIC. This epitome of Roman history was a popular reference text in the Middle Ages. Florus lived in the time of Trajan and Hadrian, and this work is mostly based on Livy. This copy is the edition of Joannes Georgius Graevius, a German classical scholar and critic. Amantine-Lucile-Aurore Dupin was best known by her pseudonym, George Sand and was a French Novelist and memoirist, remembered for her affairs with Frederic Chopin and Alfred de Musset as much as her work. Sand actively supported the February revolution of 1848 as a radical left-wing supporter, but the events of the June Day uprising shattered her Utopian illusions and her work reflected that, returning to the romantic spirit of her earlier work. This is an early edition of Estienne's son-in-law's revision of the work, translated into French. 'La Maison Rustique' is a French translation of 'Praedieum Rusticum' with alterations and an additions. This was the first book of its kind to appear in French upon its initial publication in 1564. 'Praedium Rusticum' was first issued in 1554 and was a collection of tracts compiled from ancient writers on various branches of agriculture. With Jean de Clamorgan's treatise 'La Chasse du Loup' to the rear of the work as called for. Premiered in 1900, this six act play by Edmond Rostand is based on the life of Napoleon II, the son of Emperor Napoleon I and his second wife Empress Marie Louise. The title, The Eaglet, stems from a nickname for the younger Napoleon. Published in French. The French poet and dramatist's play was premiered in 1900 by Sarah Bernhardt at her own theatre. Edmond Eugène Alexis Rostand was a French poet and dramatist renowned for his associated with the neo-romantic movement. 'L'Aiglon' is a play in six acts based on the life of Napoleon II, who was the son of Emperor Napoleon I and his second wife, Empress Marie Louise. The title of the play comes from a nickname for Napoleon II, the French word for "eaglet" (a young eagle). 'L'Aiglon' was produced by the notable French stage actress Sarah Bernhardt at her own theatre, with her playing the primary protagonist, the Duke of Reichstadt.
