Lightly tipped in to the front free endpaper is a letter with a Devon, UK address from the author, dated 11-5-32 to a Miss Rose trying to arrange a meeting in Devon. Apparantly a letter from Miss Rose had gone to her previous address in Gayfere Street, London. Although normally residing in Canada, clearly the author was living in the UK at this time. The first was published in 1945 as part of the Murder Mystery Monthly series, size: 7.5" x 5.25". The second was published a year later with the smaller format of 6.5" x 4.125".
