The Library Atlas; Consisting of One Hundred Maps Modern, Historical, and Classical Geography, &c.; With Descriptive Letterpress Of Modern Geography by James Bryce; Historical Geography by William F Collier; and Classical Geography byLeonhardSchmitz with Copious Indices All 98 maps are present along with two astronomical maps and two diagrams. maps are present, errata slip tipped in contents page, no year of publication, however the preface is dated January, 1875. I can find no evidence of annotation, all the maps are present, and without tears; the book was rebound, or should I say sympathetically repaired retaining as much of the original leather of the spine as possible, and backing it over new leather, new endpapers, old free end pages retained. Very slight rubbing to either side of the spine, slight loss of colour but no damage to the cloth. Softening of the tail of the spine. Light offset tanning of front and rear end pages. The half title and Title pages appear to be hand scribed. the verso of the title page has written in pencil at the top "Alle Rechte vorbehalten, ....." and at the bottom "Auflage ???? Aldus ???? Berlin. Printed in Gerny, Copyright 1932 by Williams & Co. g.m.b.h. Berlin-grunwald" The pages then 'appear' to be typed copies interspersed with hand lettered pages, and what appear to be 10 original drawings, with some original pencil sketch lines just visible, including one that has been coloured. Rebound in dark brown leather, gilt tooling to the margins front and back, and to the edges of the boards, gilt tooling and titling to the spine with 5 raised bands. rubbing of the edges of the boards, and the heel of the spine. The rear board has a moisture mark to the right hand side front the centre to the hinge rising to 2/3rd of the height of the board, with a couple of pressure indentations. Both marbled endpages have short cracks at the hinges, BUT the hinges are sound. Marbling of the text block edges. Pasted to the front paste downs the book plate of M. J.
